Changing Cayman is a collaborative effort between the Planning Department and the Cayman Islands National Archive

This photo pair (1999 to 2008) illustrates the need for appropriate plantings in coastal environments. The Casuarinas which are so prominent in 1999 have not stood up well to hurricanes and winter storms and have needed to be replaced by more hearty palms. Also of interest is the shifting shoreline, an annual phenomena along Seven Mile Beach.
